If you die in one of the interior levels, the next character will start at the entrance to the level nearest the crater access door. If you die in the crater or escape, your character will start in the starting area closet. In the early stages, before you unlock the Mule Operator, take advantage of game mechanics to help your next character. INSTALL EVERY NEUROMOD YOU GET AT FIRST installed ones carry over but the mods in your inventory just last that run. Kill and explore as much as you can to earn sim points. Look for neuromods, chips, and fabrication plans, because each one you find gives you benefits in subsequent runs. My suggestion is to focus on unlocking characters and upgrading them. It’s not designed for the player to be able to be a completionist on each run. The thing about Mooncrash is that you won’t be able to do much at first. Originally posted by Stock:I'm a big fan of Prey. Sorry Mooncrash, if I wanted a second job, I'd get myself a second job. Good job, you just turned a game into work.īut unlike work, the players aren't getting paid while being expected to perform under time pressure. The world-building emails? Didn't read any, have to rush. The great vista from that space window? Didn't care, have to rush. The carefully hidden notes? Didn't find any, have to rush. The great horror atmosphere in that dim room? Didn't notice, have to rush. If you slap your players with a time limit, you could just as well take all your art, map designs, notes and emails, just grab everything and throw it all into the trash, because you're forcing the players to just rush through in the most efficient way possible. But Mooncrash doesn't let me, because of the rising Corruption level. I want to take my time, reading all the emails, unlocking all the rooms, marvelling at all the vistas, breathing in all the atmospheres. I don't want to rush through Prey/Mooncrash. That's when Mooncrash turned from being an enjoyable game into tedious work. Turns out I judged Mooncrash a bit too soon, because starting with your second run, you are being slapped with a time limit (called "Corruption"). So I decided to purchase Mooncrash after having played through the first run and enjoying it.
